MTB Carbon Wheels - Size and Configuration

Carbon MTB wheels are available in 27.5-inch and 29-inch diameters. In recent years, they have replaced standard 26-inch MTB wheels. Although the larger 29-inch and 27.5-inch wheel sizes mean a slight increase in weight, their undeniable advantage lies in their ability to handle difficult, bumpy terrain, which is precisely what MTB wheels are designed for. 

How do you choose between the two suggested diameters? We recommend matching them to the cyclist's height – the smaller size is recommended for those up to 175 cm tall, and the larger size, i.e., 29er wheels, for taller riders, over 185 cm tall. 

An additional advantage of 27.5-inch wheels is their slightly improved maneuverability and stiffness. This is especially important when choosing wheels for enduro and trail riding, while for the most popular downhill, freeride, cross-country, and, of course, all-mountain riding, 29-inch carbon MTB wheels are a great option.

The outer rim width, unlike road models, ranges from 33 mm to as much as 45 mm, significantly improving ride comfort on uneven terrain. This can be seen by testing the equipment on various routes. The advantage of the 33 mm is felt especially during marathon races. 

All our carbon MTB wheels are compatible with both standard and tubeless tires. The hub axle is also variable, with both front and rear axles allowing for compatibility with a wider range of frames and forks. A 29er carbon MTB frame is just one option. 

What else can we customize in our wheels to suit your needs? MTB models can be configured for the Boost system, and in the rear, also for 15x100 and 12x142 mounts. We can also use various drivetrains in the wheels you choose, including Sram 12, Shimano 10-11s, and 12s (microspline).

MTB carbon wheels - maximum lightness

The advantage of carbon MTB wheels is their much lighter weight than aluminum versions, which is why we offer only super-light carbon MTB wheels. At No-limited, we don't compromise on half-measures, so we don't use aluminum. Here, professionals create high-quality equipment for professionals.

MTB carbon wheels - stiffness and durability

When choosing carbon MTB wheels, consider their stiffness. The high stiffness of MTB carbon wheels allows for better transfer of pedaling power to the wheels, as well as more precise steering. The stiffness of carbon wheels ensures durability and greater stability, which is crucial for steep, technical descents.

No-limited rims are created using innovative technologies, including one-piece molding, T800 and T1000 carbon fiber, and Kevlar-reinforced construction in critical areas. MTB carbon wheels - aerodynamics

Aerodynamics is another important factor to consider when choosing an MTB wheel model. Carbon wheels typically have a profile that provides better wind transfer and improves the bike's aerodynamics. It's worth keeping this parameter in mind. This makes riding more efficient and allows for higher speeds. 

To further reduce drag, we've used ceramic bearings in the hubs of our Team 180 models! All No-limited wheels feature freehubs (we use brands like Shimano and Sram) that are matched to the customer's bike's drivetrain. This ensures maximum acceleration and stable speed maintenance.
